UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland
United States
Приєднався 22 лип 2008
Since 1912, UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland is proud to be one of the top ranking children's hospitals in the nation. Through regional primary and subspecialty networks, our hospital-based physicians provide expert care in 31 pediatric sub-specialties, from adolescent medicine to urology. We are also a nationally recognized, global resource for advanced pediatric research and medical education, Level - 1 pediatric trauma center, and one of the largest sickle cell treatment and research centers in the world. Because the doctors, nurses and other specialists at Children's work exclusively with kids every day, they know it takes more than advanced pediatric medicine to speed a child's recovery. All of our resources are focused on the needs of our amazing kids. It's why so many children get better under Children's care.
Cochlear implant at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland
At just 10 months old, Sage received a cochlear implant at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland. The device can help improve hearing in kids with severe, irreversible hearing loss. Several months after doctors implanted the device, Sage said her first word: "Mama!" Today, she loves listening to music and hearing her friends and family speak. "The best part about being able to hear through my cochlear implants is that I can hear what's going on around me, and I can be a part of that," she says.

Made my nephew so happy when he signed his hat. Thank u so much for putting a smile on there faces.
U guys are the best !!!!
This is such a great video & image for Sickle Cell. I love it! My name is La Chondra Rhymes, I'm 39yo & I have SCD as well. I'm also a former pediatric patient of Children's Hospital. I love the hospital & staff, especially Dr. Vichinsky he's my hero. It has not been easy living with SCD but having a loving family, good team & inner strength will help a great deal. I can't wait for Khale'iya to become a doctor. Tell her I plan to live long enough to be her first patient. Good luck to Khale'iya & the rest of the Sickle Cell Community. 💛☺💛
Oh my, so beautiful. Brought a tear to my eye, I am blessed to be your friend and witness the miraculous move of God in your lives. #GodGetsTheGlory #YeahRoman

I was born with a defective pulmonary valve, and have had surgery twice (month old and at 10 years old) and I play ice hockey. What Sam has accomplished despite this condition is wonderful and astonishing. I am proud of him as a fellow hockey player/fan as well as a good friend at the rink. Keep going Sam
Isabel, you are a beautiful inspiration to everyone. You are such a ray of sunshine and breath of fresh air - you have always been positive and happy. It was an honor to get to know you while you were in the 4th grade, I wish you all of the best! ~ Miss Deb
You did it! So emotional at the Shark Game!
i work at children's hospital and my daughter died of this horrible disease at the age of 20 in 1996. any advances in slowing progression or eventually curing it will save many families such devastating heartbreak.
Thank God that there is hope. It is hard enough to live with and succumb to this disease, but to fight everyone and every health care professional out there is awful. Dr. Hastings is an angel in the darkness. I am so happy for the Hempel's to have someone there for them. It gives me hope, and reduces my own resentment and anger towards the medical profession from my own negative experiences. Though we cannot blanket all of the medical profession based on one individual, we can hold the belief that there is hope that more people will stand up and fight ALONGSIDE our families and incorporate us into the TEAM of healing.
What a wonderful doctor!!!!
That is amazing! Such a wonderful doctor! Thanks for sharing, and Happy Birthday again to Addi and Cassi! <3
We love Children's Hospital! All 3 of my children are always treated like family. Thank you Children's Hospital For everything you do.

I want to be a neonatologist :)
So cute
@Medic83301-Children's Hospital agrees-Training of EMT's and Paramedics in the stabilization and transport of neonates improves their outcomes. Our hospital transport education trains EMT's/Paramedics along with our nurses, physicians and respiratory therapist who transport neonates & the flight nurses who transport our infants via helicopter. Moving critically ill infants from birth hospital to Children's Hospital requires a strong team effort. Pre-hospital care providers are part of our team.
@sunkissedfilms Thanks to Dr. V and others, Children's Hospital Oakland is a national leader in sickle cell disease and in stem cell transplantation. This has resulted in the permanent cure of many children with sickle cell disease. Dr. Walters demonstrated that most children with sickle cell can be cured with a sibling match. We are piloting a stem cell transplant program utilizing cord blood for children with sickle cell disease without a sibling match. Now there are therapies that can cure.
Gee! Common sense! Not a strong natural point in SUV owners, I would assume...
